1986 Toyota Truck, Clean, Offroad Ready - Featured Truck

This clean 1986 Toyota Truck has Rancho shocks and a nice collection of lights. It also looks really clean for its age.

We found this featured truck through this eBay listing. It is a 1986 with 210,000 on the 2.4L motor mated to a manual (!) transmission. Through in the fact it really clean frame with 4wd and it is pretty great already.

The custom back bumper and original shell look great.

Most of the trucks we see from this era are either seriously beat up or have been modified into offroad toys. It is nice to see one so clean.

What really got our attention was the custom back bumper, the Rancho shocks and the retro lights. While a lot of people are going with the light bars, this stands out with its retro lights.

The owner says the truck was originally from California and is currently registered in Arizona. This means it should be virtually rust free and as long as the engine holds up, it should last for years.

The interior looks like it has minimal rips and tears. Plus, it looks pretty stock.

While the tan color looks basic, the owner says it is a custom color paint paired with custom upholstery. We can’t tell from the pictures exactly what that means.

Looking at the engine bay, it is easy to see this truck has been looked after.

The rest of the listing says:

  • Truck runs and drives excellent
  • Rhino paint on the bed liner
  • Original camper shell
  • After-market temp gauge
  • Alarm, alarm control to open doors

This up close shot shows how well the fit and finish is on the panels. It doesn’t look to be abused as much as other trucks its age have been.

One of the best things about this truck is the price. Currently bidding is right around $3k. This is a good price for buying a car for a new driver or someone who wants to do some entry-level offroading.

What do you think? Stud or dud?
