2004-2011 Toyota Tacoma Seat Belt Voluntary Recall

Toyota is recalling certain 2004-2011 Tacoma Access Cab pickups with a seat belt flaw.

Much like other recalls, if you are affected you will receive a letter from Toyota soon. This letter will contain instructions on how to contact your local dealer to have the part replaced.

The problem stems from attachment screws that could have become loose. These screws secure the seat belt pretensioner to the seat belt retractor within the seat belt assembly for the driver and front passenger. They might have become loose over time with repeated and forceful closing of the access cab door.

It is pretty clear that if these screws are loose, you are at risk during an accident.

Toyota says it will contact owners through first-class mail and these letters should be arriving soon. If you have any questions is the mean time, please contact Toyota  1-800-331-4331 or online at www.toyota.com/recall.
